The comic event of the year, the Big Apple Comic-Con, attracts the best and the brightest comic writers and fans. Held in New York City Nov. 16-18, I was able to interview some important comic figures, including Walter Koenig, Neal Adams and Adam Hughes.

Glee Club’s ‘Night of Wonder’ awaits you

It's that time of year again. Hide the flip-flops and T-shirts in the back of the closet and pull out the mittens and holiday decorations. There is nothing like the feeling of Christmas in the air, but Fairfield University's Glee Club annual Christmas concert will guarantee that this holiday season is the most wonderful time of the year.

1. Women's Basketball 5-0, best in Fairfield history? Chris Simmons: It's a little early for best ever, but the women are on their way. Wrice is a female Arenas, but with defense too. Rob Fitzgerald: Great things happen when you return all five starters, especially after the steps they made last year.

Basketball program a model for diversity

The men's basketball team huddles up. Black players stand side-by-side with white players. There is a lot more racial diversity on the court than in the classroom at Fairfield. Only 2 percent, 28 out of 1379, of male students at Fairfield are black. On the basketball team, 50 percent of the men, eight out of 16, are black, according to the University Fact Book online.

Heart of Han: Emotional men’s basketball leader carries Stags

Jon Han '09 sat down with a tired expression on his face - a product of 40 grueling minutes of repeatedly running Fairfield's offense up and down the court. Moments later, his head coach joined him. "Jon and I will watch a lot of film tomorrow. Won't we, Jon?" asked Head Coach Ed Cooley, with a wide grin on his face and a hint of sarcasm in his voice.

Sabra-toothed Stags

Head Coach Joe Frager has yet to give a losing speech in the locker room as a Division I coach. Even without losses, he has no trouble motivating the women's basketball team. The Stags have opened up with five wins and no losses, won the Cal-Poly Holiday Beach Classic and are currently ranked No. 43 in the nation by RealTimeRPI.com.
