The Mirror: How did you get involved in journalism? Brian Williams: The way you are. I was interested in current events. I mean my family traces it to about the age of eight and I made a deal with myself to start reading The New York Times everyday at 14, and I've never missed a newspaper.

Tuesday, Nov. 13 3:38 p.m. Misuse of a parking permit was reported. The permit was found altered. 4:18 p.m. Harassing phone calls were reported. They are under investigation. Wednesday, Nov. 14 4:58 p.m. A vehicle was found vandalized while parked in the townhouse lot.

Except for special events, the brown building that houses Fairfield's Jesuit population has become increasingly quiet over the years as the number of Jesuits in the Fairfield community continues to decline. Since approximately one-third of the Jesuit residence is actually being occupied, the Jesuits, in conjunction with the University, have been working on a plan to build a new Jesuit residence and use this existing building for future student housing.

When James Fitzpatrick attended Fairfield in the late 1960s, there was no office of Jesuit mission and identity. Few volunteer or service trips were even offered. Students were required to go to mass on Sunday wearing a shirt and tie. There was also no Ignatian Residential College.

Yahoo's newest creation, called Kickstart, is a social network aimed at college students, alumni and recruiters, and cites this cause as No. 10 in its "Ten Reasons to Use Kickstart."

The "serious" video game Innov8 introduced by IBM is an educational game to help students and young professionals develop information technology and business skills, and over 30 universities have already incorporated it into their programs. IBM created Innov8 after determining that education and a shortage of qualified applicants would be the issues that would have the greatest impact on their own business in future years.

Treason is never old news. That was the message Joseph Wilson and Valerie Plame Wilson gave a packed Quick Center on Tuesday night. Valerie Plame Wilson is best known for her outing as a covert CIA agent in conservative columnist Robert Novak's July 2003 column.

Although it is far from breaking news, college tuition is costing students a pretty penny, and it seems as though there's no end in sight. In a recent report released by the College Board, tuition and fees at public and private universities throughout the country rose at more than double the rate of inflation.

The administration's decision to fire Ms. DeFrancesco is regrettable and will have a chilling effect wherein students who have consumed too much alcohol will not seek medical attention for fear of the consequences. I fear that the repercussions of this incident will be tragic.
