With less than three weeks left in the year, this year’s senior class is planning how they are going to spend their last days at Fairfield.

Senior Week is the culmination of four years spent preparing oneself for the “real world.” It is the last chance for students to come together with members their class to reflect their times spent together.

“A good Senior Week can just be the icing on the cake as far as graduating,” said Chris Siwik ’01 “It’s the last chance to see a lot of the people you spent the past four years with.

This years Senior Week carries with it the theme, “What Time Is It?” Each of the different functions will map history. For instance, the Pub Night at the Levee will have a “wild west” theme and the Senior Picnic will have a medieval times theme.

Tickets are available at each of the events excluding; The Family Dance, which can be purchased in the Activities Office in the Barone Campus Center and the trip to Mohegan Sun Casino, which has been sold out.

The university is sponsoring continuous buses to and from the beach point to keep students from having to drive to the events.

“Some of the events that I was not sure would be fun last year were the best times I had during Senior Week,” said Matt Fratturelli ’01. “It is a great time seeing some of the professors that break your back kick back and relax with the students.”

The Senior Week activities commence Tuesday at 4:00 PM with the Jesuit Social at Bellarmine Field. This is the only free event of the week. Later that night is the Pub Night at the Levee, which admission is $10 and drinks (beer and wine) are a dollar each. The following day, Wednesday, is the Senior Brunch in the Barone Campus Center Cafeteria starting at 11:30 AM. Later that night is the trip to Mohegan Sun. The Senior Picnic is Thursday at 4:00 PM on Alumni Field. The picnic costs $20, and one dollar for beer and wine.

As the weekend comes Senior Week heats up with the Millennium Semi-Formal Dance on Friday night. On Saturday, the night prior to graduation, is the Family Dance where students bring their family. On Sunday, after graduation, the “Time Machine” takes a look into the future to see where some of the senior class is being projected in fifty years. The “50 Year Reunion” will take place in the Levee at 8:00 PM.

“I am look forward to just relaxing after finals are over,” said Ryan Bittner ’02 “I want to see want kind of fun FU has in store for us that week.”
