Fewer than 15 months after selling out Madison Square Garden for three consecutive nights, it should be easy for a musician to sell out the one hundred twenty seat Fairfield Theatre- right?’
This turned out to be a tough task though for Pete Francis, one-third of the now disbanded trio, Dispatch.
Francis, now touring to promote his album ‘Iron Sea ‘amp; the Cavalry,’ played to a crowd of about 95 at the Fairfield Theatre (next to Archie Moore’s). Despite the empty seats, the venue and artist seemed cozy and relaxed.
Drawing primarily from his new album, Francis played his guitars with good energy, giving anecdotes and chatting back and forth with the audience between numbers.
Standing on the tiny Fairfield Theatre stage, Francis was nothing you would ever expect to see headlining MSG- he was humble, sober, and had no backup dancers or pyrotechnics- it suited him.
Pete Francis is playing in Stamford, Conn. on Oct. 18.
