Best? Broadway Series

You may be in the last row, but $30 for a Broadway ticket and transportation is a great deal. FUSA does a good job of scoring tickets for popular shows that sell out quickly, such as “Wicked” and “Rent.” And while some of the other choices such as “Jersey Boys” and “The Drowsy Chaperone” are not as popular, it gives students a variety of shows to choose from with tickets available both semesters. Yes, you have to wake up at an ungodly hour to wait on a extremely long line, but the price is worth it for a ticket that easily costs three times as much. And the two hour wait on line is nothing compared to the month-long wait for shows like “Wicked.” This is the only time we have the chance to see a Broadway play for such a low price, especially if you don’t live on the East Coast. It’s a great opportunity of which everyone should take advantage.

Worst? OAR Concert

Guster. Dashboard Confessional. O.A.R. What do these three concerts have in common? The same genre of music. It’s time to add a little diversity to the concert since it’s clear that students on campus have a variety of musical tastes. FUSA should be commended for booking a popular band (even at the sacrifice of a spring concert), but then look at Sacred Heart who boasts having Goo Goo Dolls and Hinder in one semester. Students were more excited to see concerts at Sacred Heart than they were about seeing O.A.R. on campus. In addition, the price of a Goo Goo Dolls ticket only cost $15 while an O.A.R ticket was a pricey $25. To a college student, $10 does make a difference. Snagging a band with lots of radio airplay is always a popular idea, but maybe it’s time to look into some indie bands that could be just as good and less costly.
