Circle K hosts food drive

Tired of staring at that extra can of tuna in your cupboard? During the Thanksgiving season, students and faculty at Fairfield University have the opportunity to donate non-perishable food items to those less fortunate. From Nov. 11 through Nov. 25, Circle K is sponsoring a Thanksgiving food drive.

The Mirror reported earlier this year that Fairfield University was named as having the worst town-gown relations in the nation by the Princeton Review. However, the only people surveyed by the people at the Princeton Review were students living in the Fairfield Beach area.

Tuesday, October 15 6:28 a.m. - Hinges were taken off the door in a Dolan bathroom. 8:46 a.m. - Multiple burglaries were reported on the second floor of Dolan, including the theft of computer equipment. Wednesday, October 16 8:15 a.m. - There was a narcotic violation in Gonzaga.

Appointed senators have something to prove

So you want to be a FUSA senator, huh? Bet you thought you had to go get a bunch of signatures to get on the ballot, and then sweat out a long election night as the votes are counted. For three members of the Class of 2003, that is not the case at all. After Butterly appoints them, student body President Karen Donoghue, '03, approves senate nominees.

Registrar plays favorites

The time to register for classes is once again drawing near, and as it does, some of Fairfield's commuters may be wondering, "Will I get into the classes I need or want to take?" If you are a full-time student, the answer is, yes, probably. Part-time commuters, however, may feel a strain on their schedules when trying to get into courses.

Do cell phones break up classes?

As we are sitting in class daydreaming, I mean, listening, all of the sudden that obnoxious noise reverberates throughout the room. "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing, riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiing!" Someone suddenly becomes mortified when he realizes that it was he that forgot to turn off his cell phone.
