Studying abroad in Florence, Italy has always brought about new changes for Fairfield students, like adapting to a new language, new culture, and a new environment in which to live. Now they face a new, more grave change: terrorist threats.

With the end of the final campus event of the year in May Day, the student body looks to the future of outdoor campus events. StagStock in fall 2001 was a big success, with over 2,500 people in attendance for the outdoor concert in the quad.

Behind Melissa Santos' stellar pitching performances the softball team is prepared for a MAAC Championship run. The woman's softball team swept Marist and Siena this past weekend as they start to tune up for next weekend's conference tournament. Santos set a school record for wins in a season with her 23rd on Saturday, striking out 12 and allowing only four hits and no walks.

Former cast members of MTV's "The Real World IX: New Orleans" discussed their past memories from being on the show and their stand on various issues in society during a question and answer session with students at Fairfield University's Quick Center on Friday, April 12.

Construction delays have continued on campus with the postponement of the relocation of the tennis courts and construction of the university's new entranceway.

Fairfield is under security alert due to the reported thefts of five labtops and one audio system that were stolen from dorm rooms over Easter Break, according to Mike Lauzon, assistant director of Security.

Theatre Fairfield's production of "Festival 2002" included three students' written plays of "Everything We Never Said," "Lost, Found, and Remembered," and "A Chance."

Construction continues on campus with the start of the building of the new athletic field and the relocation of the tennis courts. The contruction began on Monday, following a legal settlement with neighbors that was approved on Feb. 12, part of the athletic department's plan to improve the university's athletic facilities.
