Mortensen packs house for Convocation

Greg Mortenson, the author of 'Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace,' had this one basic message as the keynote speaker at the University's annual Fall Convocation on Friday, Sept. 5.

'The Irish in Film' returns

For the fourth straight year, the American Studies and Irish Studies departments have teamed up to present 'The Irish in Film' series. Consisting of four films shown throughout the fall semester, each film will be shown in the Multimedia Room of the DiMenna-Nyselius Library and introduced by one of the professors in the Irish Studies minor department. The four scheduled films are 'Angels with Dirty Faces,' 'Odd Man Out,' 'The Boxer,' and 'The Fighting Prince of Donegal.' The series kicks off on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.

Thursday, Sept. 4
11:30 p.m. A hit-and-run occurred on the Townhouse block three. This case is currently under investigation.

11:50 p.m. There was a narcotics violation on the north end of campus, near the playing fields. This was referred to Judicial.

Manor dedicated to Richard Regan

Being that he was on crutches at the time, Assistant Professor Richard Regan didn't think he would make it to the Senior Brunch, held during Senior Week. It's a good thing he did though-the Manor announced that this year's yearbook will be dedicated in his honor.

FAIRFIELD Women's basketball coach to receive high honors One year after being named the new head coach of Fairfield's women basketball team, Joe Frager was inducted into the Connecticut Women's Basketball Hall of Fame last Wednesday night. Frager, who has been a part of women's basketball in Connecticut for the past 20 years, has coached at the collegiate and scholastic level.

Fairfield ‘relays’ for life

Lots to do, hundreds of people, and some wonderful speakers, was the image Megan Steel '08 used to describe Fairfield University's 2nd Annual Relay for Life. Colleges Against Cancer held the 12-hour event, which started 5 p.m. on Friday, in the Rec Plex.

Theatre Fairield “connect” with audience

These are words on a page. You cannot hear my voice and you cannot see my face, but we are still connected. Theatre Fairfield's latest production, dis/connect, explored the ways people connect - and don't - in today's technologically driven world. Under the direction of Professor Jon Micheels Leiseth, students created this piece, addressing the distance caused by technology, ethnicity, schedules and conformity.
