The passing of Maureen McAvoy ’10, due to a long-term illness, was announced by Dean of Students Thomas Pellegrino on Oct. 16.

McAvoy’s illness prevented her from returning to campus this academic year. However, she is still considered a cherished part of the Fairfield community and will be well-remembered among former classmates and University friends.

McAvoy was a mathematics major from New York.

In remembrance of Maureen McAvoy ’10 there will be a service in her name this evening at 10:00 pm in the Egan Chapel of Saint Ignatius Loyola. All members of the University Community are welcome to attend.
