When many underage students return to the campus with money from their summer jobs, they may need to find a new place to buy alcohol.

According to an article written in the Bridgeport News, representatives from Fairfield University met with police organizations from Bridgeport, Fairfield, Trumbull and Stratford to discuss the growth of underage college students purchasing alcohol.

The meeting was also attended by “154 owners and operators from 114 [liquor] stores,” according to the article.

The Neighborhood Enforcement Team, which is comprised of the four police departments, is lead by Sgt. Paul Grech.

Grech said if an individual under the age of 21 is stopped in the surrounding towns with liquor and the alcohol is found to have been purchased in Bridgeport, the city liquor store will be held responsible, according the Bridgeport News .
