To the Students of Fairfield University:

On behalf of the entire FUSA leadership team we hope you are having a wonderful fun-filled relaxing summer. As we are committed to establishing an organization that provides active representation and is accountable to its constituents, we wanted to let you know what we were up to.

FUSA has been working to get students more actively engaged in the University decision making process, namely through student participation on University committees. After meeting with faculty and administrators on campus this summer to establish a list of committees, students will be appointed to these committees by FUSA come fall. Their work would directly affect students and their efforts will be reported to FUSA through a written summary after each meeting. Currently, details are being worked out regarding appointments to these committees and more information will be available at the start of the fall semester.

FUSA has also re-created our website! Check it out at www.fairfield.edu/fusa. Keep in mind this site is still a work in progress so remember to keep checking it throughout the summer and the school year, as each time you sign on the site may be different!

This year, FUSA will also be actively engaged in a variety of areas around campus ranging from working to promote changes in the registration process, to better communication in regards to the housing lottery, and more collaboration with other student groups from IRHA, to clubs, and academic organizations.

Executive Director of Programming Meghan Doyle has been working in the FUSA Office all summer planning an exciting and fulfilling schedule of programs for the upcoming year. She has been centering her focus on establishing an exciting welcome week program schedule and planning a fantastic Presidential Ball experience. Of course, FUSA will be carrying on with the Broadway Series tradition and has begun to work with an agent on this year’s concert.

We would like to thank The Mirror for publishing this report and hope this gives you a preview of what to look for from FUSA this year! We wish everyone a wonderful next six weeks and look forward to seeing you in the fall!

Best Regards,

Jeffrey Seiser FUSA President
