So, what’s the 411?

StagWeb navigation just got a whole lot easier. The newest tab addition on StagWeb is the “Students411” link, which provides one click access to everything stag -related.

The welcome page says, “Students411 is a new Web site designed to bring you the latest information. Please let us know what you think: students411@mail.fairfield.edu.”

To find out about what’s going on around campus, when and where meetings are being held, club and university sports schedules and much more, all you have to do is click on the new tab.

For those of us who no longer dine in Barone cafeteria and do not get our daily dose of on-campus events and announcements that adorn every table, the 411 link is a great way to get the low-down on what’s happening in and around the University.

The slideshow of campus shots is another little bonus, and the snapshot of the lone studier at the library may actually inspire you to get your butt in gear and head over to the library to hit the books.

The featured links on Student411 include Student Computing Support, University Calendar, an Academic Calendar, the Campus Shuttle Schedule, and a Mass Schedule. Thanks to the Academic Calendar students can find out when this semester’s reading days are Dec. 13-15 and the dreaded graduation date May 18.

The Student Notices link is great to check out and maybe it will get you thinking about getting involved in something new.

For example, peer tutors are wanted and the Varsity Band has begun its rehearsals. All you have to do is click to learn more and the possibilities are endless.

Catherine Henkels ’08, a communications major, said the site has been very helpful thus far.

“Now that I am no longer living on campus, I think the Students411 Web site will be a great way for me to stay updated about what’s happening on campus,” she said.

Club meeting times and locations are listed on the left side of the page beneath a list of Featured Events. If everyone gets into the habit of clicking on the Students411 tab when they log into StagWeb, students will be a lot more in the know and aware of what is going on around campus and within the University community.
