The women’s crew team took to the river this weekend for the MAAC Championships and finished third overall behind Marist and MAAC Champion Loyola The Novice eight finished second in their race to Loyola and the novice four continued their success this season, winning their championship race. The team finished with 65.5 points total, with the two novice boats accounting for 44 of the points. Loyola finished with 133 points, and Marist with 122. “Our overall season was a success. Considering we have no seniors and mostly all freshmen on our team, we did very well,” said Head Coach Andre Albert. “There was leadership seen from all different class members of all different ages. ” Over the year the team had success as the Novice four won their race at the Jesuit Invitational and the Second Varsity eight took first place at Clark University. “The season has been better than I expected when we first got started. We lost six seniors to graduation last year,” said Albert. “The girls far exceeded my expectations.” Last season the team finished third in the MAAC championships as well.
