With a 85-76 road loss to Niagara, Fairfield has now lost four games in a row, all on the road, and three straight in the MAAC. The Stags could not keep up with the Purple Eagles, who shot 55 percent from the floor and 15-for-28 (54 percent) from beyond the three point arc.

The normally strong defensive Fairfield team could not stop the Purple Eagles from making long range shots. On the offensive side, Fairfield shot 47 percent but it was not enough. Turnovers again cost the Stags, who committed 20 turnovers, leading to 26 points for Niagara. The Stags did dominate on the boards, with a 38-22 margin. 24 of those rebounds came on the offensive end.

The Stags were led again by senior guard Michael Van Schaick, who scored 18 points. Sophomore guard Herbie Allen had his best night so far this season, with 13 points, including 8-for-10 from the free throw line.
