Fairfield’s men’s lacrosse team will travel to Colorado for two games against Butler and Air Force this weekend after going 1-1 last week.
In addition, junior attacker Matt Buecker was honored by the Great Western Lacrosse League with a player of the week award. Buecker had seven goals and two assists in Fairfield’s games against 13th ranked Hofstra and Butler.
Fairfield lost a tough contest last Tuesday away to 13th ranked Hofstra, 11-8. Buecker scored four goals in defeat for the Stags.
The team rebounded with a win in the opening game of their GWLL schedule, vanquishing Butler 11-7 at home on the 24th. Fairfield jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead in the first quarter and were able to hold off Butler late in the game to hold on to the win.
Fairfield plays Denver away on March 5 before completing their road trip away to Air Force on March 7.
