As the holiday season arrives, people eagerly anticipate exploring exciting destinations and engaging in festive activities. The desire to immerse oneself in fun-filled activities ignites the holiday spirit and fuels the need for fun. If you are wondering what jolly and exciting activities we have here at Fairfield, I am here to help!

On Campus:

Cocoa & Cookies: Sip, Dip and Decorate!

If you are a fan of baking and decorating, I highly recommend checking out the Cocoa & Cookies: Sip, Dip and Decorate event happening on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 5 p.m. in Regis Hall. RA Emily, Devone and Karla will be serving hot chocolate and there will be plenty of holiday cookies to decorate and eat!

Stuff A Stag

If you are a Freshman here at Fairfield, you probably don’t know about the Stuff A Stag event that Fairfield At Night [F@N] hosts every year, but it is one of their most popular events. Join F@N on Saturday, Dec. 9 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center [BCC] Oak Room to stuff your holiday friend. There will also be holiday treats, hot chocolate and festive music. This event is always a big hit, so I wouldn’t miss it if I were you!

Hanukkah Party

If you are looking to celebrate Hanukkah here at Fairfield, attend the Hanukkah party on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the lower BCC. There will be a menorah, dreidels, latke treats and more! Being a Catholic University, there are not as many Hanukkah events as there are Christmas, so this is a perfect opportunity to learn about or celebrate the holiday!

Off-Campus:

Festival of Lights

Every year in Fairfield, the town hosts a Festival of Lights. This is a light show where you can stroll around the farm and look at all the holiday decorations and lights. You can also sing along with Buddy the Elf and enjoy s’mores kits. The Festival of Lights takes place at Hope River Farm and runs Dec. 8-9 and Dec. 15-16. Tickets are $10. This is a perfect activity for anyone looking to get away from campus for a while and enjoy the holiday season.

Holiday Wish Express

Calling all “The Polar Express” fans! The Holiday Wish Express is an immersive holiday odyssey filled with lights, candies, toys and more. The journey starts on a holiday express train as it leads you through glacier islands with polar bears, a holiday forest, reindeer stables and finally North Pole’s Main Street!

Mrs. Claus then guides you through the North Pole and Santa’s Workshop filled with luminous lights and magical elves. At the end of this experience, there is even an interactive snowball fight. This activity is perfect for anyone who wants to heal their inner child and remember the holiday magic! The Holiday Wish Express is in Stamford and is running through Dec. 24, with tickets priced at $35.

I hope that this list allows you to embrace the holiday spirit here in Fairfield! I know that finals season can be rough and stressful but remember to take time out of your day to enjoy the holidays. There is so much to do and see both on and off campus.
