Cancelled classes at Fairfield are not frequent occurrences, but when they happen they create more than a mess in a student's schedule. They also create problems for adjunct professors and problems for smaller academic programs. Classes are cancelled when the minimum of 10 enrolled students is not met.

Students often enter college with the idea that the days of roll call are finally over and in higher education your grade is based on more concrete requirements, like two or three exams or papers each semester. These students might be surprised when many Fairfield University attendance and participation policies are introduced in the beginning of the semester.

Recent suspensions nothing new: Men’s hoops team has history of violations

Along with all the dramatic wins and disheartening losses throughout the history of Fairfield men's basketball, there is another theme of this team: suspensions. In the past four years, Fairfield has had five suspended players. Jermaine Clark '01, Dan Galvanoni '01, Jeremy Logan '03, Deng Gai '05 and most recently Terrence Todd '06 are all players that have been suspended by the university in the past four years.

Stags win first playoff game, look to next

With a 10-0 rout of the Hawks of SUNY New Paltz, Fairfield's hockey players made the first small step toward a conference championship. And what a giant leap it was for the entire club on Tuesday night. The Stags - who finished the season second in the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference - had their most consistent game, according to team members.
