Two sophomores in suits, Jeff Seiser '10 and Spencer Thibodeau '10, stood still within five feet of each other, waiting to hear who would be named FUSA president.

Here we go again

Fairfield and Providence. Men's lacrosse season-opener. A one-goal game in the final seconds. A controversial ending. History did indeed repeat itself and that suited the Stags just fine, as a familiar script coincided with the team's seventh consecutive season-opening victory and a thrilling 7-6 overtime win over rival Providence this past Saturday.

Women’s basketball advances to semifinals

The women's basketball team took down a familiar foe in its first game of the MAAC Tournament. Fairfield had faced Siena in the previous three tournaments and the Saints ended the Stags' season last year with a last second three-pointer. Fairfield split this year's regular season series, winning by three at home, but losing by six at Siena.

Stagnant shooting ends streak

Senior Day: a chance to reminisce about bygone days, one last shot at nostalgia, an opportunity to end the season on a high-note. Unfortunately, Fairfield got the memo. Fairfield (14-15, 11-7 MAAC) literally "turned-back-the-clock" in Trenton on Sunday afternoon, as the Stags reverted to the team's enigmatic, inconsistent form circa November.

Back in seventh heaven

When junior point guard Jonathan Han knocked down a three-pointer with 2:09 left in the game, the Stags bench exploded with cheers, led by their Head Coach Ed Cooley. Fairfield had pulled ahead of Manhattan 72-61 and all but ended the game, while Han had scored his 16th point of the second half.
