Next Thursday, Theatre Fairfield will continue its eight-year tradition of “Director’s Cut,” a show consisting of 13 one-act plays performed and directed entirely by Fairfield University students.

“It’s going to be a fun night of theatre. There will be something for everyone; a lot of comedy, the heartfelt show… and it’s guaranteed anyone who comes will know someone involved,” said Jill Amato ’05, one of the directors for the show. Amato, as well as all of the other directors, are either theatre majors or minors and are enrolled in Professor LoMonaco’s directing class. “Director’s Cut” is a chance for the students to put what they’ve learned to practical use.

The show will run at 7:00 and 9:30 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, and 2:00 and 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. The first performance of each night will showcase seven acts, and the second performance will feature the remaining six.

Brian Wielk ’06, an actor in one of the shows, is enthusiastic about the progress the shows have made so far.

“We’ve all been working really hard to make this great for everyone,” he said. “The directors have put so much effort towardsmaking this something special that everyone will be able to enjoy.”
