Have you ever seen a movie that portrays the story of your life?

“Adam and Steve”, a romantic comedy featured Craig Chester as Adam, a thirty-something recovering addict who only has misfortune with relationships.

Malcolm Gets plays Steve, a control freak who loves having anonymous sex and fears commitment.

The movie opens in 1987 with Adam and his fag-hag Rhonda entering Danceateria, hoping to find back-clap mopers and Bauhaus. Instead they got glittered-covered dancers and the Human League.

After a few bumps of coke, the couple end up in bed, but the hot night took a 360 degree turn as Steve experiences an unattractive side effect of cocaine.

Twenty years later the movie picks up when the titular duo bumps into each other again, without realizing who each other was.

With the twists and turns, the audience develops a connection with the characters and gets involved in their rollercoaster ride.

Chester and Gets have a natural on-screen chemistry that challenges their straight Hollywood counterparts.

Ex-Saturday Night Live dervish Chris Kattan, playing the role of Steve’s best friend, adds an outstanding touch to this feel-good film.

“Adam and Steve” allows the audience to experience a romantic comedy with slapstick comedy and a gay twist.

Chester said during a Q’A session at Tribeca, “I always superimposed myself to a straight character in films… that is why I wrote it.”
