Cooking anything other than your basic pasta can be a scary thing. The fear of undercooking or overcooking something can draw people away from using such ingredients as chicken, beef and most notoriously seafood. But contrary to belief seafood is one of the easiest things to cook with, especially shrimp. For instance, when cooking shrimp you don’t even need a timer; they let you know when they’re ready by curling into a little ball and turning a vivacious pink color. Shrimp is also very versatile and can be cooked numerous ways with various spices and flavors.

So if you want a little change in your dinner life, why not add some shrimp? This recipe comes together nice and quick, making it the perfect weeknight meal.

Shrimp Teriyaki Stir Fry

Ingredients:

2 tbs. canola oil

1 cup broccoli, chopped

1 cup of mushrooms, chopped

1 cup minute ready brown rice

5-6 medium size shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tbs. Teriyaki sauce

Directions:

1.Heat wok or large skillet over medium heat. Add canola oil. When a spoon inserted into oil has bubbles form around it, it is at the right cooking temperature

2.Add vegetables and cook for 1-2 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until it turns pink and curls, 2-3 minutes.

3.Add teriyaki sauce and cook for one more minute.

4.Cook brown rice in microwave for one minute. Add to plate and pour shrimp vegetables and teriyaki over the rice.
