Imagine if VH1’s show “I Love the 90s” released a soundtrack. Now imagine a group of five, spiky-haired pop punkers who decided to rerecord that soundtrack while adding their own taste to the mix. The image you have in your mind is New Found Glory’s newest album, “From the Screen to Your Stereo II.”

One of the most popular bands on the punk rock circuit for the last seven years, New Found Glory came back swinging with its seventh album, with an 11-song track list of some of the most memorable movie themes from the last 20 years.

The first single of the cover album is “Kiss Me,” ( Click here to watch the video on youtube) taken from the hit movie “She’s All That.” Another stand out track is the group’s rendition of The Goo Goo Dolls’ break out hit “Iris,” which comes from the 1998 blockbuster “City of Angels.” The CD also includes, “It aint me babe” from “Walk the Line”; “The Promise” from “Napoleon Dynamite”; “The King of Wishful Thinking” from “Pretty Woman”; “Stay” from “Reality Bites”; “Lovefool” from “Romeo and Juliet”; “Don’t You Forget About Me” from “The Breakfast Club”; “Crazy for You” from “Vision Quest”; and “Head over Heels” from “Donnie Darko.”

The album includes several guest vocals, including Lisa Loeb, Chris Carrabba from Dashboard Confessional, Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday, Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy, Will Pugh of Cartel, Max Bernis of Say Anything and Sherri DuPree of Eisley.

It’s clear the boys from New Found Glory had a fun time making this record, as they took a trip down memory lane with each track they recorded.

From the “Screen to Your Stereo II” is a great follow up to the band’s 2006 release “Coming Home,” and just goes to show why New Found Glory continues to be one of the strongest bands on the rock circuit for the past 10 years.
