There was an entire buffet table filled with a variety of sushi and egg rolls. Wasabi, ginger and water accompanied the sushi feast. It was a beautiful Japanese spread. As freshman Kim Ruoff said, ‘The sushi was delicious.’ So if the smell of deliciously crafted sushi didn’t entice students to go out to the quad that Sunday afternoon, the sound of the drums certainly attracted attention. Sunday, October 19th, the Asian Student Association (ASA) of Fairfield University held a celebration in the Quad for the Japanese Fall Festival. Students began poking their heads of the dorms to find out where the deep drumming was coming from. Outside on the newly made Quad mound, drummers from the Taiko Masala group pounded their drums so that their beats vibrated the dorms halls. While some listeners stuffed their faces with delectable sushi, others students got invited to bang on the drums themselves.
