I don’t know about you, but I have had a countdown going for spring break since about Christmas time.

Finally, it’s here. Now, most of you are probably joining the rest of Fairfield and heading to Acapulco, which is fine. Wherever alcohol will be flowing faster than the Colorado rapids, and where I can be surrounded by all of my closest friends works for me.

Spring Break is essentially the greatest invention for a college student. One full week of unadulterated R-rated fun is exactly what we need at this point in the year. Some will be coming back with unbelievable tans. Others may be coming back with “clap”-and that doesn’t mean that we are cheering you on.

But here are a few points when heading to your ultimate dream destination … or whatever was most accommodating to your college bankroll.

Remember that no matter how far you stray from Fairfield, you will always be able to find someone else from this itty-bitty campus. Be smart with your actions, even after a few daiquiris or margaritas. If someone sees you attempting to get on “Girls Gone Wild”-shame on you if you tried in the first place-you better believe 99.9 percent of this school will know about it. So, act appropriately to Fairfield norms, which lets pretty much anything go.

Secondly, make the most of your excursion. As tempting as it is to pass out on the beach after a few too many body shots and remain there until one of your friends finds you the next afternoon, don’t waste your entire vacation. Most of us will be heading to tropical environments that we have yet to explore, so gain a little something from your trip-besides several STDs.

Not to get too sentimental but wherever you may be heading, if you are going anywhere at all, enjoy every aspect of your vacation.

Seniors, this is our last spring break, the last time we can have no regrets with our actions and enjoy one last romp with all of our closest friends (yeah Traffic Barren). Juniors and sophomores, you have a little experience under your belts so do whatever it is that will make this trip unforgettable. And to the little freshman, get ready for the time of your life. After this break, you will look forward to it every year from here on in.

My last bit of advice, enjoy the sun, the fun, and the over-consumption of alcohol. Any place that is warmer than Connecticut in March is where you should be.

And remember, whatever happens on Spring Break, stays on Spring Break-Acapulco, Bahamas, Jamaica, Florida-I know I’ll be spending it with some of my closest friends.
