For the most part, Valentine’s Day is a fabricated holiday that women wait for every year. And guys, as much as you hate the idea of flowers and candy, we love it. You have the Superbowl, we have Valentine’s Day.
Being deemed the squadron commander of sexual issues, its time to act on any romantic feeling you have in your body.
Now granted, there should not be a designated holiday to show your love for us but, if Hallmark didn’t create it then when would we ever get appreciated?
Like I’ve said before, it doesn’t take a lot to make us happy and considering most of us are on our last nickel and dime, it’s time to get creative this holiday season.
But what you do for your girl is really all dependent on what level you two are at in your relationship. If the relationship is just starting, you better believe she’s going to expect something amazing. Who am I kidding? Even if you’ve been dating for four years, we still expect something amazing.
Guys, this is the holiday that we can brag to our girlfriends about how undeniably wonderful our boyfriends are-please don’t let us down.
Now amazing doesn’t mean jewelry or fancy dinners, well at least not to me. Amazing can be as simple as buying her favorite flowers, cooking her favorite dinner, renting her favorite movie. Make her breakfast in bed. Just make us happy and then we will “make you happy.” Reciprocation is the key.
If you don’t have one certain person to be your valentine, what better time than now to ask out that special someone? Everyone wants to go out on Valentine’s Day so the odds of her shootin’ you down are a lot lower on average than any other day of the year.
What it really comes down to is that this is the one day, whether you guys like it or not, that we girls get you all to ourselves.
Your friends will understand when you tell them you have to hang out with us, at least for a portion of the night. Have dinner and then go to the bar and get rocked, you’ve probably already finished a few bottles of wine so you’ve already eased into the night.
It’s all about thought and we all know your other head is thinking all the time, so use the right one this time and don’t forget Saturday. It’s only one day out of the year, but make sure you do it right. So make like Cupid, spread your wings, and spread some love.
