It’s that time of year again. The time when your favorite TV shows are thrown in the ring to battle it out in an every man-for-himself battle for best television show. The 59th annual Emmy awards will be held in Los Angeles this Sunday, hosted by “American Idol’s” own Ryan Seacrest.

Some of this year’s big names include “24,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Entourage” and “The Sopranos”; each with around seven nominations each.

Like its previous years, “The Emmy’s” 2007 nominations have left many viewers and spectators confused aboutand upset with the Academy’s decisions.

“Lost,” ABC’s highly-successful drama series, has absolutely no presence on the nomination list this year. This comes off as extremely odd, considering both the show’s popularity and creativity have grown significantly over the previous year. Not to mention the intense season finale that was so mind blowing that it could turn anyone into an instant fan.

Although it is disappointing that “Lost,” once the Emmy winner as the Outstanding Drama Series, does not even have a nomination this year, I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes back swinging next year.

One show that might have to put up a fight in each of its categories this year is “The Sopranos.” Aside from the fact that the show is competing against the ever-so-popular “Grey’s Anatomy” in almost every category, the HBO crime family has a lot to defend after its infamous blackout finale.
