During a cold winter day filled with grey clouds, everything is lightly glazed with a thin layer of power white snow. A dark pickup truck is parked in front of an abandoned barn with shrinking window hole.

“Abandoned” by Elyse Raby ’08 conveys a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The photograph was taken during a mission volunteer trip through Campus Ministry in Kentucky.

At the Student Art Exhibition sponsored by FUSA and the Art Club on Tuesday students were able to express their artistic talents. The variety ranged from flower paintings similar to Georgia O’Keeffe’s to proportionate photographs like Alfred Stieglitz’s.

“I’m glad FUSA allow students to express themselves in such a creative manner,” said Raby.

“All of the work is very impressive and it is amazing to have such strong student response to the show,” Kathleen Maloney ’06 said.

The exhibition displayed about 30 submitted works. Students expressed a lot of interest toward the exhibit and look forward to the future showing in Spring 2006.

“The art work is amazing, and I am glad to see more of an opportunity for students to artistically express themselves,” Anthony Del Aversano ’06 said.
