Hollywood horror: Never-ending remakes provide the same old scares

Hollywood has run out of ideas, especially in the horror department. Instead of thinking of new and original ways to scare people, directors have decided to revive old movies. When the amount of original horror films in the past five years can be counted on one hand, one has to wonder: Why is Hollywood creating all these remakes? "It's funny because a lot of horror films are more or less telling the same story.

Halloween fright fest scaring up funds

Press Release Ghouls and goblins of all ages are invited to the Second Annual Halloween Fright Fest at the Community Theatre on Sunday, Oct. 30.   This all-day film festival, sponsored by Media Wave of Fairfield, is free to the public.  Funds raised through concession sales will benefit the Community Theatre Foundation, located at 1424 Post Road in downtown Fairfield.

Burton’s “Corpse”: A rotten disaster

Although "Bride" has the same imaginative animation as "The Nightmare Before Christmas," the story is nowhere near as captivating.
