Christian McEvoy, a 2004 Fairfield graduate and former English teacher at Fairfield Prep, is nearing the completion of a coast-to-coast cross-country trek that began on July 1. His journey, which started in San Francisco, Calif., is set to conclude in Narragansett, R.I on December 16.

After more than five months and 3,000 miles, McEvoy will finally return home to Fairfield on Sunday, December 10. ‘I learned a lot at Fairfield University,’ he said. ‘It’s a very special place in my heart.’

But McEvoy’s praise is not just limited to his college alma mater. ‘Everyone’s been incredibly supportive,’ he said. ‘I think it is going to be very obvious when we show up how wonderful the University, town and Prep have been.’

According to a December 5, 2006 press release, McEvoy and his team will enter Conn. on December 8 and stay until December 15. He is expected to run up Post Road, arriving at the Fairfield Gazebo by approximately 11:30 a.m., where there will be a small reception that is open to the public, according to Matt Pierson, Operations Coordinator for the Coast-to-Coast team.
