1. Best MAAC Tournament moment?

Tom Cleary: The trip up through the Berkshires was interesting, but the best moment had to be the men’s game against Loyola. The ending was bad, but the game was great.

Keith Connors: The Cooley-Patsos Showdown. Next year should get even better.

Chris Simmons: Seeing a giant 15-foot beaver on the side of the road going up to Albany.

2. Is Loyola-Fairfield men’s basketball a rivalry?

Tom Cleary: Cooley said that he gets sick whenever he sees green, and every time they play the coaches and players argue with each other … definitely a rivalry.

Keith Connors: “I hate Loyola.” – Ed Cooley

Chris Simmons: Close games in the MAAC Tournament two years in a row helps, but I think the bigger rivalry is Cooley-Patsos.

3. Will a MAAC team advance in the NCAA Tournament?

Tom Cleary: Yes. But not on the men’s side. Siena is a good team, but will not be good enough for the upset. Marist, on the other hand, has a chance to go back to the Sweet 16.

Keith Connors: Siena beat Stanford. Marist went to the Sweet 16 last year. It could be a banner year for MAAC Basketball.

Chris Simmons: I hear Rick Neuheisel is giving the MAAC pretty good odds.

4. Will the women’s team make a postseason tournament?

Tom Cleary: It could happen. They have a solid resume with wins over Richmond, Boston College and Harvard. It’s too bad they didn’t play a little better during conference play.

Keith Connors: It’s possible. If not, there will be better days ahead in the Frager era.

Chris Simmons: I hope so. They deserve it – especially the seniors.

5. Will speedo guy ever show up at a Fairfield basketball game?

Tom Cleary: He wouldn’t be difficult to miss; he would be the only one in the student section.

Keith Connors: From what I’ve seen in two years here, the Red Sea is far from the Cameron Crazies.

Chris Simmons: Let’s work on an actual student section first. And Tom needs to stop reading my answers before he writes his.
