Tyga just recently released his first album with Young Money Entertainment, “Careless World: Rise of the Last King.”

Comprised of 21 songs, the album has only eight with Tyga rapping by himself; the others are all collaboration tracks with different Young Money artists.

“Rack City” peaked at number 8 on Billboard’s Top 100 list and is probably one of the best songs on the album, followed by “Faded” featuring Lil Wayne. The songs are not truly special, and after listening to the entire album, each one sounds strangely familiar to many rap songs by different artists such as Tyler the Creator. Tyga’s style of rap isn’t special and doesn’t truly provide a unique spin on the hip-hop/rap genre.

After hearing “Rack City,” I thought that the album would follow the direction of the single and be a great, providing some competition for Drake’s new release.

But it is evident that this album doesn’t even come close to Drake. “Faded” and “Rack City” are the only songs worthy of praise.

This album was extremely disappointing, especially after waiting for its debut for so long.

Lacking catchy lyrics and good musical accompaniment and consisting of major themes rapped about in almost every other rap song created today, Tyga makes me wonder if he is only destined to be a one hit wonder. Lil Wayne might have wasted his time and money on this rapper.
