Government conspiracies. Prison break-outs. CIA spies and double cross.
No, I am not describing the latest installment in the Jason Bourne series. I’m talking about the Monday night Fox drama, ‘Prison Break.’
It would be hard to believe if someone has not yet heard anything about this heart-pounding, fast-paced action drama, whose fourth season kicked off last Monday.
The show began telling the story of Michael Scofield, a structural engineer and borderline genius, who’s brother is on death row for a murder he did not commit.
After executing an elaborate plan to break his brother out of prison, the brothers go out on the run, while trying to clear their names along the way. They uncover that the set-up was a ploy to distract something far bigger, orchestrated by a top-secret section of the government only known as ‘The Company.’
Season four’s plot line can be described in one word: revenge. After being tracked down by CIA officials, the brothers are teaming up with the CIA and FBI to once and for all take down the people who are causing so much misery and pain to the people of the country.
While last year’s season of ‘Prison Break’ proved to be a big disappointment to the show’s devoted fans, ‘Prison Break’ came back with vengeance during the two-hour season premiere last Monday. With the return of actress Sarah Wayne Callies in her role as Dr. Sarah Tancredi, the show is starting to feel like old times again.
But no good thing can last forever, and while ‘Prison Break’ is redeeming its past mistakes in this current season, I think it’s safe to say ‘Prison Break’ is in its final season. But for now, I’d recommend escaping (no pun intended) from the drudgery of homework every Monday at 9 p.m., and tune into to this heart-pounding thrill ride.
