This season the Fairfield Drama Troop will be presenting “Pippin” the musical for the first time on campus.

The story begins in the year of our lord 780 somewhere in the Holy Roman Empire. Pippin, the first born son of Charlemange, has had it with being forced to live the life of royalty.

He has had books and useless knowledge forced down his throat his whole life and was never given the chance to interact with the beautiful and raw world outside the castle gates.

After finishing his required schooling Pippin decides that it is finally time to head off and see the world.

When Pippin gets outside of the gates, a “mystical group of players” introduces themselves and offer to show him the uncensored reality that is life. The rest of the play focuses on Pippin’s journey, lead by the players, towards the ultimate goal of personal fulfillment.

The show is being directed by Heather Parady and choreographed by Lisa Brailoff in the style of Bob Fossy.

Although tickets are already sold out for the show, which will be running from Oct 30th till Nov 3rd, people are encouraged to keep checking for cancellations and remember that another show can always be added to the schedule.
