FAIRFIELD Fifty-three students elected into prestigious honor society Fairfield recently announced this year's Phi Beta Kappa inductees, the nation's oldest and most prestigious academic honor society. The students - nine juniors and 44 seniors - must rank in the top 10 percent of their class, have a major within the liberal arts and sciences, and prove to be leaders in their fields in order to be considered for membership.

Thursday, Feb. 28 A Fairfield employee received an anonymous letter that threatened to kill her if she didn't give the writer $10,000. The police were notified, and nothing else has happened in this case. 3:40 p.m. A professor called Public Safety because he found a student sleeping in a classroom.

Back in seventh heaven

When junior point guard Jonathan Han knocked down a three-pointer with 2:09 left in the game, the Stags bench exploded with cheers, led by their Head Coach Ed Cooley. Fairfield had pulled ahead of Manhattan 72-61 and all but ended the game, while Han had scored his 16th point of the second half.
