The Best: La Salsa

Once again, La Salsa has been deemed the best Mexican food in Fairfield. It’s not hard to see why – their portions are generous, the menu offerings varied, and the food delicious. It’s hard to believe that they’re actually a chain of restaurants throughout the country, considering their food is so good, but they are. Their location is great, but be prepared to wait; parking is limited and there’s usually a line. Ours is the only one in the northeast, so enjoy it while you can.

The Worst: Taco Bell

Taco Bell is a chain as well, but everything La Salsa does right, Taco Bell does wrong. La Salsa grills their food fresh, while Taco Bell squirts their meat out of a tube. La Salsa offers generous portions; Taco Bell goes the easy way out. Sure, you can get three tacos on the cheap, but you need six to be full. The one at the mall likes to forget things too – I can’t remember the last time I got the cinnamon twists I paid for. With over a half dozen different Mexican options in the area, you can do much better than liquimeat, especially when the closest Taco Bell we’re aware of is located all the way out in Trumbull at the Westfield Mall.
