1998: The women win the MAAC Championship, but on the men’s side the Stags lose a 74-73 overtime heartbeaker to Marist in their first round game, Paul Cormier’s final game as head coach.

1999: The women fail to build off of the past season’s championship and fall in the first round to Canisius. Meanwhile, the men lose again in the first round.

2000: The men move one round farther into the semifinals, but fall to Iona 76-72. On the women’s side, the Stags put together a 15-3 regular season record, but lose to St. Peter’s in the championship and end up in the NIT.

2001: Loyola defeats the men in another close game, 60-58 in the first round. The women improve to 16-2 in the regular season, but again lose in the championship, this time to Siena. But they receive the only at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament in Fairfield history.

2002: Siena destroys both teams in the semi-finals. The women lose 80-62, the men 83-63.

2003: The men put together their best postseason of the past 10 years, making the MAAC Championship, but losing to favorite Manhattan. The women close out their season with a semifinals loss to Niagara.

2004: The men earn a bye to the second round, but lose to Siena. The women lose in the first round to Manhattan in overtime.

2005: The women scratch out an overtime win over Siena in the first round, but then lose in the semifinals. The men lose 76-74 to Rider, also in the semis.

2006: The men go out in the first round, while the women lose in the semis for the second year in a row.

2007: The men lose to Loyola in the first round, while the women lose on a last-second game-winning shot to Siena.
