Are you gonna eat that?

An apple a day keeps the doctor away, right? We have all heard the old saying, but what if you were told that eating chocolate and French fries, among other unlikely foods, could actually be beneficial to your health? Many experts are now saying that a variety of foods have many more health benefits than previously assumed.

Hot trends for cold weather:

While the summer weather had a great run into our fall semester, there is no denying that the cold weather has struck Fairfield for good. With seasonal shifts, there are also shifts that need to be made in one's wardrobe. The rules of fall are easy to follow.

Is American money just Euro-trash?

Strolling down the streets of Aix-en-Provence, France, with a baguette in her hand, Maryellen Fenton '09 heard a clank - a two Euro (?) coin fell out of her bag and rolled on the pavement. "Nooo," yelled Fenton as she chased after it. With the American dollar hitting an all-time low and the Euro an all-time high, Fairfield students studying abroad in Europe are more cautious about spending their money.

She said: A time for thanks and no-thanks

The thought of homemade pumpkin pie has been making me salivate since before I started wearing my Uggs and NorthFace. Thanksgiving definitely takes the title of "Best Holiday Ever." When else can you dedicate an entire day to eating delicious food and falling asleep on the couch? In the spirit of the holiday, I've compiled my list of the top 10 things NOT to be thankful for this year.In the spirit of the holiday, I've compiled my list of the top 10 things NOT to be thankful for this year.

Letters to the Editor:

Recognize our rights I was very disappointed by Lt. Nero's knee-jerk reaction to The Mirror's (entirely balanced) coverage of the peace march in New York City. ‘Spirit’ far from thoughtless

Last week, (former) online Mirror subscriber, U.S. Navy Lt. Jamie Nero, was disheartened by "how misguided some of our undergraduate institutions have become." Nero pointed to the Nov. 1 Mirror story about the nearly 60 Fairfield community members who participated in an anti-war protest in New York City, calling their spirit "an indicator that the participants lack factual information and a credible position on the war and are simply followers to a 'cause.

Editorial: Cheers to Luda, Boos to OCB

Ludacris may be adding 2-0-3 to his list of favorite area codes this year. Students said they are more than content that the famed hip hop artist and actor will be this year's FUSA concert. FUSA's choice reflects a campus-wide desire to take a new direction in concert choices; recent Fairfield concerts have included the likes of O.A.R., Dashboard Confessional and Guster, which can hardly be considered eclectic selections.

A whole new world, new horizons to pursue

With more than one-third of Fairfield students in each class studying abroad every year, many have expressed interest in writing about their experiences. Traditionally, The Mirror has published personal accounts from student travelers. A new magazine, Glimpse Quarterly, is a new outlet through which students can voice their experiences and learn about others' experiences.
