Spring Weekend planning underway despite lack of student input

University sticks to ‘long-term solution’ to housing issues

At this week's FUSA Senate meeting, Vice President of Student Affairs Mark Reed, and Director of Residence Life Deb Cady, presented and answered questions regarding the current housing situation. The administrators came at the request of the Senate in a written letter by Senate Chair Tim Rich '08.

Sour grapes: Bar charges cover, students talk of boycott

The senior class recently faced a rude awakening - and it had nothing to do with the fact that the year is nearly half over. Two-dollar Tuesdays, where all drinks at the Seagrape Café are $2, is a staple for seniors living at the beach. However, the Grape has instituted a new "DJ charge," a $2 cover required for entry into the bar on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

‘ER’ turns 300

Before "Grey's Anatomy" dominated Thursday night television, there was another medical show that reigned for years: "ER." This Thursday, "ER," the second-longest-running drama behind "Law and Order," will air its 300th episode. However, the prime time drama may be celebrating its last episode marker as well, with rumors that the show is slated to end.

Get comfortable with ‘Grandma’s Old Couch’

Just picking up a copy of "Grandma's Old Couch," Monitor and the Merrimac's new CD, is different. The CD cover is a deep brown chocolate color, and it is smooth to the touch. Made from 100 percent recycled paper, there is a distinctive, organic feeling. Much like the CD cover, Monitor and the Merrimac has a natural country blues feeling that you don't often hear today.

Come to Alumni Hall

On Sunday the women's basketball team dismantled the Maine Black Bears in a 76-54 victory at Alumni Hall in front of only 650 people. There were a few dedicated students scattered throughout the crowd but not enough. The super-bleachers on the far side of the building, which were packed with students for Tuesday's men's basketball game against Yale, were nearly empty.

It was a moment of disbelief for a man who only three days prior had watched his team stand toe-to-toe with the fifth-ranked team in the nation.
