To the Editor and Fairfield University: Hello Fairfield I would first and foremost like to welcome all returning students and the class of 2012. It has been my privilege to have been on IRHA since my freshman year and I have been proud of the progress that we have made so far.

To the Students of Fairfield University: On behalf of the entire FUSA leadership team we hope you are having a wonderful fun-filled relaxing summer. As we are committed to establishing an organization that provides active representation and is accountable to its constituents, we wanted to let you know what we were up to.

Andrew Chapin's April 10, 2008, column wrongly blames FUSA President Hutch Williams for disorganization within the FUSA Senate as it prepared a protest. All blame should have been placed on me, the senate chair at the time. I take full responsibility for the pre-mature announcement of the protest - an endeavor the Senate was clearly not ready to embark on.

To the Editor, As a junior on the Fairfield Women's Rowing team, I have grown accustomed to the lack of attention that your newspaper has paid to my particularly hard working team. I no longer search The Mirror for mention of my team and our weekly accomplishments because I know that my search is futile.

Open your eyes to female leadership To say that women are irrational and unreliable workers is outrageous. It is not only prejudiced and stereotypical, it is also inaccurate. Women, after centuries of oppression, have now risen not only in the work force but in every imaginable field.

To the editor, For those of you who took notice, last week in the middle of the traffic circle there was a most curious spectacle as the University rolled out its most recent answer to the school's ongoing housing crisis. I applaud the administration for its cardboard housing - compact, green and larger than most triples - as it looks to take Fairfield to the next rung of higher education.

Choice and choices are two very different concepts. To be pro-choice, in American culture today, is to support abortion. To be in favor of choices was the argument of Michael Csorba's article "Strength in numbers: Abortion statistics tell the story" from the March 13th issue of The Mirror.

Confucius once said, "Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life." Confucius knew what he was talking about, and as difficult as it may be to stay true to his advice these days, it is crucial to achieving a fully satisfying life.

To the Editor: It is a great honor to have been chosen by you to be the 63rd president of the Fairfield University Student Association. It is a position I accept with a great sense of duty and with the highest of resolve. I am grateful for the opportunity you have presented to me and promise that I will devote all my efforts to making Fairfield a better place.
