Looking forward into the past

Get ready to dance to the music, you everyday people -- in March, Sony is rereleasing Sly and the Family Stone's 3 early albums: "Life", "A Whole New Thing" and "Dance to the Music". And why should we care, you ask? Picture this: a slow pan across a silent room in the bottom of the library.

They’re here: the replacements

February is the month of mid-season replacements on TV. Reality shows dominate the arena of new programs but this year they are joined by dramas and sitcoms. One drama is "Dragnet" on ABC and the big new sitcom is "My Big Fat Greek Life" on CBS. Both of these shows are not completely new ideas as "Dragnet" was a popular television program in the 60s as well as a comedy movie starring Tom Hanks and Dan Aykroyd and "My Big Fat Greek Life" is based on the hit movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," from last year.

Localboy makes good (music)

Last fall, as the Levee rocked with many concerts, this campus buzzed with news that Dave Grazynski, '04, and his record label, Last Night's Escape Records (LNE), were to release a compilation CD from all the shows this winter. The concerts have long been over, the songs recorded, and while LNE may have dissolved, one thing remains solid: the compilation will still be released.

THE BOND FILE: Drop the big boy!

As far as I'm concerned I'm pretty damn tired of all this talk of "war." Let's be reasonable here. If we want to take out Iraq we need to do it old school Mike Tyson style-knockout in 44 seconds. How do we get this done? Simply put, the big boy-the "H" bomb.

Campus security has its gaps

Increased Security: What does it do? To answer my own question, nothing. Recently, we've seen a security boost at the main gate. Every car entering campus must show identification. Some days the line has stretched onto North Benson Road. Last week, we published an article discussing why these measures were being taken so I won't give you all the technical details.

Hockey plays out last string of games in hope of making playoffs

After the administration made the decision not to continue with the hockey team earlier this month, the Stags have been able to bounce back and play some of its best hockey of the year. Fairfield started out the month with a 4-2 win at Canisius. The win marks the first ever over the Griffs at Buffalo State Ice Arena.

LETTER: Painful, but reasonable cuts

To the Editor: Since graduating, I have attempted to become a well-informed alumnus. The motivation behind my interest in the school stems partially from the fact that as a graduate, the University's standing in the academic world directly affects me. The other motivator is my guilt over having been such an apathetic student.

LETTER: Vandals apologize to community

To the Editor: On January 27, as some of you may know, a few Fairfield University students were arrested in connection with vandalism near campus. We are those students and we would like to take this time to apologize for our actions. We love the town of Fairfield and everything it has to offer.
