Letter: Save a buck at the bookstore

To the Editor: The problem of textbook prices is a long standing one on university campuses, and the possible solutions are more complicated than a bookstore setting a deadline and then blaming faculty for not following it. Publishers' incentives for large-scale adoptions, the frequent re-issuing of "new" editions (with few changes from previous editions) and the cycle of course offerings at a particular university are all factors to consider.

Letters to the editor: “Athletic success directly affects the school’s reputation”

To the Editor: As season ticket holders for Fairfield basketball, and loyal supporters of Fairfield University and all Stag sports, we were appalled by the actions following half-time of the men's basketball game against Manhattan on Friday night. After a large number of student athletes were recognized for their academic achievements, many of these same students left the arena immediately and failed to return to support the team.

Hoaxes increasingly common, increasingly frustrating for journalists

Letter to the editor: Want to increase your power of persuasion? Join the debate team!

To the Editor: As a school, Fairfield has become known for the number of students who have gone on to attend law school. As president of the debate team, I have to wonder why more of the people who are apply for law school have not joined the team. Not only will debate increase your persuasion skills, but you will be able to see if trail law is something you have an aptitude for.

Letter to the editor: Class of ’09 has much to offer

To the Editor: I would like to share some information regarding the admission process and the class of 2009. Simply focusing on the size of the class and the percentage of students who were admitted fails to capture the true quality of the class. Our goal is to admit a class which will contribute to Fairfield University in a myriad of different ways - in the classroom, in the residence halls, on the playing fields and in the community.
